Halloween Week 2026

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and I’m so excited. I have been doing a week long celebration here on the blog on and off since I started in 2013. I love doing these posts because they are a chance for me to reflect and really think about all the great media and just stuff that is out there for Halloween, I think this year I have some great recommendations so pull up a stool and I’ll pour you a drink.

Sadly I’m a day behind my usual timeline. I usually like to start the week on Monday and then end with a wrap up after Halloween. This year, life has kept me busy and work is the priority. Stupid adulting.

As time passes and my children get older, Halloween looks a little different. I have fond memories of being a child and going out on very cold and rainy nights wearing plastic masks that cut into your face and make it hard to see while wearing a coat over my costume. Jump to when my wife and I were first married we had Halloween parties in our tiny apartment. Once we had children I got to enjoy walking around and watching them Trick-or-Treat and carve pumpkins. Now, my oldest is working on Halloween, and my youngest is going out with friends and doesn’t want her cringy Dad following her around. My wife and I will probably get out the fire pit and sit in our driveway handing out candy. My daughter and I are the only ones who want to carve pumpkins this year and last year we ran out of time and didn’t carve any.

Last year for my Halloween week I did some movie, and book recommendations, and shared some of my favorite Halloween recipes. This year will be a bit of the same. I will do books, and movies, but this year I will be talking about my Halloween playlist to get you all ready for the best holiday of the year. Stick around and see what haunting delights I have in store for you.

Since I ended my intro post last year with the original trailer for Halloween (1978). This year I will end with a music video for one of my favorite Motionless in White songs off their last album, Scoring the End of the World, Werewolf.
