THIS IS MY DAY!!! I would love to take the day off work but i don’t. I try to bring my brand of crazy dark charm to those I work with in an attempt to brighten their day.
On Halloween we Movie Marathon!!!! I work from home thanks to the Pandemic and that means as soon as I log in to work I have a movie on the TV in the Bar. This is a sports bar after all, there is obviously a TV. We have decided to do the bathroom in a horror motif so more to come on that. You know I’m going to share the finished product.
So Halloween Activities:
I have a 13 year old who is too cool for daily life. He would go out Trick-Or-Treating if his friends were home but his friends are at the other parent’s house not in the neighborhood this year. My youngest is 10 and she is the absolutely joy of Halloween for me. She is just enough creepy for me to be proud, but yet just enough scared of everything to be innocent. I love it.
My youngest, daughter, is going as a Gothic Ringmaster. She wanted to be. Living Dead Girl kind of thing:
Her best friend was that last year and we really wanted our daughter to be different. So she fell back on a mix of creepy and one of our favorite movies… The Greatest Showman.
My kids are my life and how I enjoy holidays these days. They are the only way I get through Christmas. Long story for a Psychiatrist and I’m not willing to pay to tell it.
So what have I been up to in the bar???
Well, the bar doubles as my office. Yes!!!! How cool is that I work in a bar. That was a bit of an issue early pandemic. I started enjoying a daily cocktail earlier and earlier because I was home and I could. I don’t do that as often. Some days are shit and a cocktail helps LOL!
That being said I have been legit busy. This post isn’t going to be nearly as fun as I had planned. As soon as my lovely wife and daughter were off to school this morning, I grabbed my coffee and started Halloween (1978). I have been so busy with work calls and such It’s now 3 PM and I’m only a half hour into Halloween II. Ugh!!!
So I am more of a Freddy Fan when it comes to my generation of slashers but I love the different story lines Halloween has taken. I have seen some great pics/gifs of how the movies work. To be clear, I found this so don’t come for me if you disagree. If I could remember who did this I would credit appropriately
I have seen a few version but this is my favorite due to just how nice this is represented. I do wish instead of sequel timeline it was the Cult Rune Timeline. This timeline does lean into the cult aspect of Michael being driven by an outside force instead of just because it’s his sister, or his need to complete, or blin infatuation… Whatever scenario you subscribe to.
No shame here. I support whatever Halloween theory you have. That’s what makes the conversations fun. So… What are my fellow Halloween Goblins watching tonight? Are you choosing a Halloween path? Which one and why if you are.
Another Halloween Tradition in our household is Mummy Dogs for dinner. These are super simple and delicious. I can have the kids help me and it’s quick enough we can eat and maximize Trick-Or-Treating time. Check out the recipe here.
Listen, I know my kiddos are growing up so fast. I love walking around the neighborhood with her going house to house getting candy. I’ll keep going as long as she is willing.
