I liked this movie so much when it first came out in 2023. I started this post then and just got busy and never posted my review. So here it is in its updated format. Hope you enjoy this review as much as i enjoyed this movie.
Have you ever wondered what if…? Had those intrusive thoughts that the world would just be better without you? This idea has been used in many different formats from books to movies and television. Probably the most well known use of this scenario is the Classic Christmas movie It’s a Wonderful Life. George Bailey has a rough day and has a full breakdown and thinks his suicide would be better for his family than face what is coming.
It’s a Wonderful Life is not one of my favorites. As a matter of fact I don’t like it and try to avoid it every Christmas season if I can. However, take that movie and give it a modern horror twist with a slasher that looks like a christmas tree topper, add Justin Long and Joel McHale and I’m in. In It’s a Wonderful Knife the quiet town of Angel Falls is being plagued by a serial killer. Winnie, the reluctant heroine is caught in the path of this killer and stops him stone cold dead saving her brother who was the intended victim.
End of the Horror movie normally right. Wrong, the movie jumps a year into the future and Winnie is struggling to find a sliver of positivity. No one is talking about what happened and is acting like everything is normal. Her parents are dotting on her brother and seem to treat Winnie as an after thought. It’s no surprise when she wishes she never was born. THE northern lights glow with a fury and the next thing she knows… Te world is not how she remembers. Check out the trailer.
Since I know the story of “It’s a Wonderful Life” and I really didn’t care for the movie. This was my compromise. A horror version of this Christmas classic. For those of you who follow me you are probably in the same boat as me and will enjoy this modern take on the original classic.
I absolutely give this 🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃. This has become a Christmas tradition for me. I have made sure to watch it every year and I think next year I will watch it with the kids,. There are so many holiday movies we try to watch as a family I have to rotate movies. So many movies so little time.
Hope you all have a very happy holidays and for those who celebrate, a very Merry/Happy Christmas.
